My first guess is it's trying to connect to network resources and they're
timing out. Second guess is an issue with the docking station or what the
laptop is expecting to see when docked. You can plug in at work w/o the
dock to see if the dock makes any difference.

My suggestion is to use event viewer to track what loads at home & when
docked. The difference should reveal what's taking so long.

BTW my employer has implemented a scan that detects all installed software
on the PC. It runs whenever we log in to the LAN so I get hit with it at
the office but not at home. It's slow and churns the disk for several
minutes but at least it runs as a background task so I can start working
while it does it's thing.

Hi Folks and Happy Friday!

When I boot up my notebook at home it comes up really fast (less than a
minute or so).

When I am at work and stick it in a docking station it's nearly 10
minutes as it farts around.

I know it's connecting to network drives but how the heck could that add
all that extra time ?

Thanks,

Chuck
