I'm not sure what they're using to do the scan. It's some batch file that
gets kicked off by the LAN login script.

My first guess is it's trying to connect to network resources and
they're
timing out. Second guess is an issue with the docking station or what

laptop is expecting to see when docked. You can plug in at work w/o the
dock to see if the dock makes any difference.

My suggestion is to use event viewer to track what loads at home & when
docked. The difference should reveal what's taking so long.

BTW my employer has implemented a scan that detects all installed
software
on the PC. It runs whenever we log in to the LAN so I get hit with it
at
the office but not at home. It's slow and churns the disk for several
minutes but at least it runs as a background task so I can start working
while it does it's thing.
