I originally used Network Solutions & Register.com ... but the price's they charged did not justify the service they offered.

I'll agree with that. My first domain I registered with Network
Solutions because at that point they were the only game in town.

When the rules were changed to allow other registrars to exist,
Network Solutions continued to treat their customers as if they were
still the only game in town, so I switched to Register.com.

I've since changed to DNS Central (a Tucows reseller). Still not one
of the cheapest registrars, but ...

1. About half the price of Register.com.

2. Their website for maintaining the registration is easier to use
than Register.com's.

3. They don't send me unwanted email. With Register.com, every time I
changed my domain registration email address due to spam from domain
registration scraping, Register.com started sending me their
promotional crap again and I had to re-opt-out. Even though DNS
Central offers services beyond just domain registration, they've never
sent me any promotional email about it.
