I've been using MyDomain.com for several years now with no troubles.
Today _all_ of their name servers are up and down (mostly down) and it
is causing me no end of grief. Not a word about the problems on their

Anyone got any suggestions for a good alternative host? I'm not too
keen on GoDaddy - heard too many nasty stories but any suggestions
welcome. Of course if the servers don't come back I may never see you

Your subject says domain registration, your first paragraph talks
about name servers, and your second paragraph talks about hosting, so
I'm confused as to what you're looking for. Those are three discrete
functions, which can all be provided by the same entity but certainly
don't have to be.

Personally I prefer to keep functions split up so that it's easier to
change to one part without impacting the others, so I have ...

Domain registration = DNS Central (a Tucows reseller)

Name servers for my domains = Security Space (a pay service but very
affordable)

Hosting (both web and email) = me (I have a static IP address from my
connectivity provider and a physical server in my apartment)
