I originally used Network Solutions & Register.com ... but the
price's they charged did not justify the service they offered.
google has a service
Ken Sims:
Register.com, since changed:
Personally I prefer to keep functions split up so that it's easier to
change to one part without impacting the others, so I have ...
*Domain registration = DNS Central (a Tucows reseller)*
Name servers for my domains = Security Space (a pay service but very
affordable)
Hosting (both web and email) = me (I have a static IP address from my
connectivity provider and a physical server in my apartment)
Ken
Jon Paris:
ns1.mydomain.com
ns1.afraid.org
ns2.mydomain.com
ns2.afraid.org
etc.
I've already seen the effect in action as the two mydomain servers
at the top of my list failed yesterday for a short time and my sites
were still reachable via the secondary servers.
