Well that does it. No chance I'm leaving 4.4.4 for now......

Subject: Re: [PCTECH] Verizon Android 5.0.1

Rob,

My (Verizon) Galaxy S4 was upgraded to 5.0.1 a few weeks back. I was almost
ready to downgrade back to 4.x.x. I do not recall that my reception was
affected. My issues were mostly CPU performance; screens would invariably
go non-responsive for 12 seconds at a time (yes, I timed it, and it was
consistently 12 seconds). I did some kind of system reset and power cycled,
but it did not help noticeably. I was waiting for the weekend to visit the
local Verizon shop to work through it, but then, within a day or two,
performance returned to normal, and it has been that way since.

I wondered if it had been busy reformatting files as a requirement of the
upgrade. But that wouldn't explain your issue.

I talked to our PC tech (who talked me into the upgrade) and he said
he started noticing the same thing also.
Get's so bad I can't even text in many places I used to be able to.
Apparently there's a newer version out for Android but Verizon seems
to take the attitude of not releasing a new version until the next
version after that is announced.
Probably an attitude of "who wants to be on the leading edge?". But
this is turning into the problem of inheriting all the problems
discovered in the old release that may have been fixed in the newest
release.
If they claim it's because of extensive quality testing, it just isn't
working...

Most recent was a few voice mails from the doctor's office about my kid.
Grr...
