Rob,
Did you see Bolhuis' post on Facebook about Chrome? He gave some reasons
for dumping it; IIRC, it had to do with add-ins and not being able to
remove
some of them.
I had issues with FF in which it would go into 'Not Responding' mode and
had
to be ended (usually through Task Manager) and restarted to get anything
done. I switched to Chrome but still get the error once a day (always
early
on). Chrome, though, will recover if I just let it sit for a few minutes.
So, must be something with my PC's configuration (Win7).

Subject: [PCTECH] Switched from FF to Chrome
After the umpteenth time (today) of having to clear my cache to get to
sites
in FF I finally had enough and switched to Chrome. Made it my default
browser.
The import bookmarks from FF doesn't work. There is a way to export your
FF
bookmarks to a html file and import that html file which worked for me.
Not exactly the way I would want it but, kind of ok.
I do not like to search from the "omnibox" I want that to only do URLs. I
found a February 2017 article on how to go to chrome://flags/. and turn it
off but I couldn't find the flag they noted. I checked and I am on the
current version of Chrome.
Found another article which talked about an advanced setting but that also
turns off predictive URL and I'm not ready to turn that off yet. I have
some long urls I use and I can type faster than drilling down through
bookmarks. I have a coworker and I swear if should had a click pad for
every
letter of the alphabet should would mouse everything. And she used to be
one of those "take my 3180 terminal??? from my cold dead hands..."
type of people.
Thought about IE but I'm still on Windows 7 Professional using IE11
(they're
spinning me up a new PC as I type). IE doesn't play well with IBM
Navigator
for i. Downright hideous. And IBM does not list IE as a supported browser
for Nav.
