Hi Rob,

Not answering your Q about the tp-link router.

I (plus friends) are using the Asus RT-AC68U and RT-AC87U, and
and now, I'm looking into the RT-AC88U.
https://www.asus.com/Networking/RT-AC88U/

What is essential for me, is a regular update to my router, and ASUS
has been in top of the different routers I have been in touch with.

Investing in a tp-link router, read about their security update time rate.
I have read about firms, that ignore security updates to their routers.

Subject: [PCTECH] TP LINK Archer C2 router

Had a surprise visitor stop by. Former coworker who left us to go work for a local telco to handle their networking. I use them at home. I'm rural and use their wireless towers.

I mentioned that I am having an issue where I hook up a laptop directly and I get fair speed checks. However if I use my router it goes to heck and is pretty much unusable. He said he could sell me one direct but I could buy it on my own too. He said they stopped using NetGear, etc and recommend their customers get
TP LINK Archer C2
Any comments on that model?

He also hinted that there may be something different coming to my house in 2018. Since they trenched a fiber next to my mailbox I'm a little giddy.
