Yesterday I fired up my Win 10 VM for the first time in a month to run the last remaining app I have that needs Windows.
Of course in their infinite wisdom MS forced an update on me (Yes - I have turned them off). It failed the first time and told me to try again. Some 90 minutes later it finally finished the multiple reboots etc. that the update apparently required.
It appears to be working and does at last appear to have fixed some font issues that started 12 months ago but ... I have a whole bunch of new "shortcuts" on the desktop - several of which are to apparently non-existent programs. There are also two shortcuts to "invisible" files ._DS_Store and .localized.
Anyone got any ideas on where these dang things might have come from? I've deleted the ones that go nowhere but a couple are to real files on my Mac that have nothing at all to do with Windows.
