Jon

Anyone got any ideas on where these dang things might have come from? I've
deleted the ones that go nowhere but a couple are to real files on my Mac
that have nothing at all to do with Windows.

At least some VM will pick up and show on a Windows desktop files it finds
in your macOS user desktop (~/Desktop) and include them in the Windows'
Desktop folder as virtualized links. So these could just be from programs
or links in your macOS desktop folder. I think this is likely to explain
the files that have nothing at all to do with Windows, including the macOS
normally hidden files ._DS_Store and .localized.

Or at least my version of Parallels does that, and I've never bothered to
look in Parallels preference settings to enable/disable it.
