Around here we only get Windows updates when the guy who does that feels like it. And, since he's not very ambitious we don't get windows updates very often.

I'm sure there are people who are running V5R4 of IBM i and haven't put a fix on in a decade and claim it works just fine. And perhaps it does since they are doing one or two tasks with no internet, etc.

Here, Windows updates are pushed out to all PC's every Tuesday. I normally get a message asking me if I want to update now, or have it update later if I leave it powered up when I go home. I normally skip the update and wait for a more opportune time. My laptop normally gets put into Sleep mode when I leave the office. Some updates take a cup of coffee or two. Some updates can make things run differently (like in a bad way).
