It has been that good every time I needed to talk to them.

warranty repair service on the has also been excellent on the one occasion I needed it. I was at a conference and a video card fault started causing overheating and failures. LocalMac store diagnosed the problem but did not have the parts. They suggested running it on top of an ice pack and turning it off whenever possible. That kept it limping for a day until the event was over. Took it into the store that evening

That kind of phone support is RARE! Sure beats having to call into Microsoft. Even with support accounts I have yet to find a PC Tech or Windows engineer that likes or has a good experience calling into them.

I had a 2015 model Richard and had no keyboard issues. Have had more with my latest model - but I love the dynamic function keys so much that I happily live with it.

Overall the increased productivity has far outweighed the additional cost of the hardware. And how do you value phone support where you don't wait on hold, they call you back if you want at the time that you select. You talk to North America support folks who know what they're talking about and are not afraid to escalate an issue if needed. The only really difficult problem I had (some 7 years ago) the supervisor who ended up handling the call gave me his direct number, encouraged me to call if the problem was not resolved, and called me back a week later to make sure I was OK 'cos I hadn't called!

Of course that optional support is not available on refurb machines unless they are from Apple.

Should work fine:

Which model ?

I almost pulled the trigger on the 32gb 2018 Model the other day. Was heavily discounted open box but I've heard bad things on the 2015-2018 keyboards.

What kind of dev you doing ?

subject: [PCTECH] Using a Mac as a daily driver.

So on Saturday I picked up a used Macbook pro. Over the years I've toyed around with the idea of using a Mac, but the cost was just way too high.
Then, I found a local place that sells used stuff, so I got a Macbook for about half the cost of new.

So I was just curious if anyone else is using a Mac for their daily driver, and what did you think of it?

So far I have everything I want setup on it and it seems to be working well.

Thanks,
