the DSPOBJD creates a file (you said so in the 1st line of your message)

therefore 'yourfile' is a name that you want to assign to create a new file
as.

I really question either your ability to learn or the instructor..

another question folks...

my guideline for this assignment says to use DSPOBJD command to create
a output file in my lib. to use it to compile my pgm.

DSPOBJD  OBJ(yourlib/yourfile)
         OBJTYPE(*file)
         OUTPUT(*outfile)
         OUTFILE(yourlib/tempfile)

now, i think i get this. my only question is
what do my directions mean by "yourfile"

i have no idea which obj. it's talking about b/c
the rpg pgm i wrote is of type RPGLE not of *FILE
