I would drop the 'Z' - I know it's more semantically correct, but
$subdt() looks cleaner to me, and looks more related to %subst.
I could see myself saying to a colleague, "use the 'subdate' BIF", but
wouldn't have a clue how to pronounce %subdtz()!!

The name we're currently leaning towards is "%subdtz".
As in, the sub-part of a date, time, or timestamp value.
