Ron, Hide the details of how to extend and shrink the array by putting it into a procedure: eval ReturnCode = AddElem(NewElement) In the procedure, do the test for "off the end" and do the memory allocation there. It leaves the mainline almost as clean as: eval Index = Index + 1 eval MyArray(Index) = NewElement Buck Calabro Aptis; Albany, NY > -----Original Message----- > From: HwaRangRon@aol.com > Sent: Tuesday, November 02, 1999 4:03 PM > To: RPG400-L@midrange.com > Subject: RE: SUBFILE FOR NON DISPLAY PROGRAMMING.... > > >>If Count > %Elem(MyArray) > >> Eval %Elem(MyArray) = %Elem(MyArray) + 20 > >> Eval Memory = %Elem(MyArray) * %Size(MyArray) > >> ReAlloc Memory MyArrayPtr > >> EndIf > > The memory and reallocation should be handled for me.
