Odp: Statement Terminators

But we already have statement terminators - end of record. Why we need next if 
we don't allowed multiple statements in one line?

Hello RPG400-L,

  Ok folks, even in our imprecise natural written languages (ie.
  languages with which we communicate to non programmers :-) we have
  statement terminators. Shoot we have a whole slew of them. How many
  people are clamoring to remove the use of all punctuation in
  English?
