Another good thing about that, was that I had a tough time finding these
prompting characters in Infocenter 5.2 and had to link back to a manual in
4.5. But I guess I am shouting at a stone and should forward this on to
the Infocenter people.

For the record, from any command prompt screen, press F13, then pg down to
"Selective Prompting" to get the whole scoop. I must have missed looking
at
this for the first five or six years programming the as400.

Your memory is playing tricks with you.
Try this: ?wrkobjpdm ??lib(mylib)
You'll get the WRKOBJPDM prompt with LIB(MYLIB) filled in but enterable.
