I did a DSPMSGD CPF5125. What I suspect is happening is that there is
some strange OVRDBF or some such thing that says not to open the file for
update if a particular error occurs. That error could be any number of
things. Perhaps, since it normally happens during the graveyard shift, a
backup is locking the file? I would investigate the joblog generating the
CPF5125 closer.

Subject: CPF5125 error - activation group?
List,
I have an OPM program running (PROGA) that updates and writes to
SLALLO and other Mapics files, such as MBADRES1. A trigger program
(PROGB) with its own activation group is attached to SLALLO and also
updates a LF over MBADREP. About once a week (usually 3:30 AM, of
course!) the job blows up with CPF5125 I/O error was detected in
MBADRES1, which is opened for update in PROGA. Can the activation group
be causing this? The trigger was written and installed by a consultant,
and I don't know enough about activation groups to know if this is
helping or hurting my situation. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
