Likewise, the batch jobs could create a data area when they start, clear it when they finish. The interactive CL program could check the batch job's data areas; if not empty, the interactive wouldn't start.

Naturally, you'd need to program some fail-safe logic (like what to do when the data areas are created, but the programs abend without clearing the data areas).

In that case, you might use RTVJOBA in BUP009C to fill in a data area with the job attributes when it starts, then clear it when it ends. The batch programs could check the data area; if it's not empty, send a message to the user identified in the data area, and give them a couple of minutes to log off. Check the data area again; if the job is still active, use ENDJOB to kill it.

BUP009C (which calls RPG-BUP009R) updates 3 files which is holding up those crucial batch runs,whoever runs this program during that time needs to be cancelled to allow smooth run of batches.
