I use *INZSR frequently. I like it and do not associate it with RPG cycle programming. I consider it a "Call me first and only once" routine. How many times have we had questions posted asking if there were a way or how to create a routine in *SRVPGM's that run the first time the service program is loaded/started or are called when the service program is unloaded/ended? A lot. *INZSR is that routine in *PGM objects. I only wish they would have ported *TERMSR from VisualAgeRPG as well. Then we'd have both start and end routines. If I do pre-V5R1 coding, I use *INZSR to hide the overrides and file opens. I'm not one to hide all PLISTs and KLISTs in *INZSR person, although I do see a lot of people doing that as well. Good idea. When the original poster of this thread suggested *INZSR wasn't working, I new right away it was activation groups causing the variation in the behavior, and not a problem with *INZSR. -Bob Cozzi www.RPGxTools.com RPG xTools - Enjoy programming again.
