What is the format of the database file you want to select from?
Do you have any indexes( i.e. keys ) over it?
I know that I can do this quickly in RPG or other HLL languages (even REXX),
but I'm looking for a way to do it in SQL (QMQRY) if possible, perhaps as a
CTE.
If I have a starting date, is there a way to return a set of succeeding
dates? For a month-end process I need a file that contains the following
data:
Year Month
2005 01
2005 02
2005 03
etc.
2006 10
2006 11
2006 12
This file would contain a total of 24 records. At the end of each month it
would be cleared/rebuilt with appropriate values (end of January 2007 it
would be 2005-02 through 2007-01).
I've looked through the archives and haven't found anything close. If you
have a solution or can point me to information, it would be much appreciated
(I'm trying to save what few hairs I have left).
Thanks in advance,
