In the Substr clause, take care of the space before and after the , SUBSTR(FIL44,43,1) become SUBSTR(FIL44 , 43 , 1) hope this help ----- Original Message ----- From: <mcrangle@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, January 17, 2007 1:12 PM Subject: PREPARE SEL FROM -206 error
I thought this would work, as there is no syntax error using double quotes
D SelectOne S 500A INZ('SELECT ITNBR, ITDSC, -
D ITTYP -
D FROM AMFLIB/ITEMASA -
D WHERE SUBSTR(FIL44,43,1)="R" -
D ORDER BY')
But no records are selected on the OPEN MYCSR, but when I comment the
substr D spec, it retrieves ALL records.
I've searched midrange and seen some use of the CAT command, but not as a
solution.
