Martin, Error 206 is: Column &1 not in specified tables. The reason for that is because specifying double quotes makes SQL think that whatever is between them is a VARIABLE! Since you don't have a variable called R in your table you are getting the error. -mark
I thought this would work, as there is no syntax error using double quotes
D SelectOne S 500A INZ('SELECT ITNBR, ITDSC, -
D ITTYP -
D FROM AMFLIB/ITEMASA -
D WHERE SUBSTR(FIL44,43,1)="R" -
D ORDER BY')
But no records are selected on the OPEN MYCSR, but when I comment the
substr D spec, it retrieves ALL records.
I've searched midrange and seen some use of the CAT command, but not as a
solution.
