Am I crazy, or should this work?

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this statement? This will not work in a CLP or CLLE member.

800- monmsg cpf0000 exec(do)
900- chgvar &sts 'N'
1000- enddo
* CPD0707 30 No matching DO command for ENDDO command. ENDDO ignored.

This just started happening yesterday. System is at V4R2.

Any ideas?
