Adam:

At first thought, using a keyed data queue, you could process items 
on the queue with the Retrieve Data Queue Message (QMHRDQM) API. The 
key would be the timestamp. When you wanted to remove an item from 
the list(queue), you'd use the Receive Data Queue (QRCVDTAQ) API; 
and when you wanted to add an entry to the list(queue), you'd use 
the Send Data Queue (QSNDDTAQ) API.

It'd take a little practice to see how stepping through the 
list(queue) works; but it's pretty easy with some experience and a 
few appropriate prototypes.

That's not to say that a data queue is your best choice. It merely 
says that it seems to be reasonably possible.

Where do you see the major complication (other than rewriting 
everything you already have)?
