Reason it doesn't work as-is is that any DS defined with LIKEREC is  
automatically qualified (as are those defined with LIKEDS) so the  
field names don't match. All the fields in the DS are named  
RecordDs.fieldName.

Three different options:

1) Change it to an externally described DS and it will happen like  
magic.

2) Add *Input to the LIKEREC and use the DS as the target of the I/O  
operation

3) Add PREFIX('DS.') to the F spec and the fields will be populated -  
but I believe you are restricted to the length of the DS name as the  
resulting field name will be restricted to the length of the name on  
the I-specs generated.
