So... if I understand the problem, you are on V5R4 and therefore are restricted to 65535 as a maximum string length?

If that's the case, you'll probably either have to use a 3rd party tool (such as mine, Expat, etc) or the XML-SAX opcode. (Which would be pretty easy in this case.)

If you are on IBM i 6.1 or higher, you can define an RPG string that's 250000 without any problems.
