No you cannot, however, if you are creating a service program, you can leave the EXPORT keyword off the PSPEC begin and nothing outside of the service program can use it. Only the procedures within the service program can access it.

Getting old, I can't remember if this is possible or not.
I know subroutines can be defined and used locally in a subprocedure.
If it is possible, please point to an RPG manual reference if you can. I've
looked through the V5R3 ILE RPG Reference, didn't see anything (at least I
didn't recognize it as being possible). If this support was added at a later
release, please let me know.
