If you get POI 3.13, it comes with all the jars you need except XlParse. Dom4j is no longer used. XlParse is downloaded from Scott's website.
Here is my classpath:

Subject: Need help getting HSSF to read a xlsx file.
I am making some progress.
I have revisited Scott's site and am working through all the jar files
needed. There are a few surprises for me.
XMLBEANS.
I downloaded xmlbeans 2.6.0 and xmlbeans 2.5.0.
1. Per Scott's article, I cannot find the xbean.jar file. I have browsed
through the jar files I downloaded.
2. I cannot find the jsr173_1.0_api.jar file.
3. where do I find the XlParse 3.6?
Most of this stuff seems to have been archived and it's difficult to know
where to look for a first timer. I tried to search for them through Google,
unsuccessfully.
Here is my path to xmlbeans :
\\develop\Java\xmlbeans\xmlbeans-2.5.0.jar\org\apache\xmlbeans\
Here is the contents:
Folder - impl
Folder - soap
Folder - xml
A bunch of classes.
I walked through the folders and do not see what I need.
What am I missing?
