I have resolved some issues but now have a hard halt when trying

I am trying to get my first program to work reading a
spreadsheet using Scott's examples and guidance.

Sometimes helpful to give the link(s) from which that is gleaned;
a reader can then see whence what is being presented, was
essentially derived\mimicked.

As to links to the examples - Scott's example code is mostly in the
download of the API, in a source file there.

There are also some articles on his site - www.scottklement.com -
which is a pretty well-known site and easily found. I don't remember
how much sample code is in any of his HTTP articles - it's been
awhile!

The intention was not to suggest that someone might want just any examples for themselves to peruse... The point was to elicit whatever _specific examples_ the OP was referring to, that remain unknown to the reader, unless revealed; i.e. only revealed by including link(s) to what was being referenced by the OP as "Scott's examples and guidance."
