Raul Alberto, IMHO the more dangerous factor is that the hackers have a route to the IBM i in the first place, so my proposed architecture is :
IBM i Db2 API -> API gateway running on Power Linux (e.g., API Connect) -> Web Server on Power Linux.
It's as safe as anything these days.

I believe that separate the web server from the IBM i makes it easier for the hackers to cause trouble.
If the web server gets compromised it becomes an easy path to the IBM i, while the Apache running in the i is very hard to break.
