I am using the SELECT/WHEN-IS/OTHER/ENDSL construct.

Why is it that the compiler accepts WHEN-IS *ZERO, but it doesn't accept
WHEN-IS *LOVAL?

Using *LOVAL, I get this error message:

*RNF0203 30 5676 012500 OPERAND *LOVAL FOR WHEN-IS IS NOT VALID. IT
CANNOT BE AN ARRAY OR DATA STRUCTURE.

Which is misleading, unless the compiler somehow defines *LOVAL internally
as an array or data structure.

I also get the same error when I use WHEN-IS *HIVAL.

Thank you,

Doug
