Joe, If this is being run in WDSC then yes. WDSC uses jdk 1.3 WAS 5.1 uses JDK 1.4 He could always drop back down and use WAS 5.0 if he has it installed! cheers Colin.W http://as400blog.blogspot.com Extension 5800 Direct dial 0870 429 5800 -----Original Message----- From: Joe Pluta [mailto:joepluta@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 01 December 2004 01:24 To: 'Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries' Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver not supported on 5.1.2 ? > From: Dean, Robert > > sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver is an optional component of the Java2 1.4 > spec. It looks like IBM chose not to supply this driver with their 1.4 > level JRE's. I still don't understand why the thing works standalone but not in the web server; are they using a different JVM for the WTE than for standalone apps? In any case, I've got the topic for my next WebSphere column. Paul, if I were you, I'd crank up one strongly worded PMR (or whatever the hell it is) and send it in demanding that IBM support the same features they used to support.
