Assigning keys to type text?

I recently upgraded from the CODE editor to the Remote System Explorer.
I must say that I love it!

However, in CODE I has a profile set up to do things like insert comment
lines (I'd press ALT-8 and it would type "   * * * * * * * * * * * *"
for me.). I would press ALT-H and it would type my H-spec line for me,
etc. I was using the profile.lx & similar files to assign several editor
commands to keys and to slightly alter/improve editor commands.

How can I replicate this in the rational product?
