For what it's worth, WDSC 7.0.0.8 runs just fine on my Windows 7 PC.
So does RDP 8.5!

Knowing we were about to get an upgrade to IBM i 7.1, I downloaded the RDP 8.5 trial and installed it. Made a copy of my WDSC 7 workspace and the first time RDP 8.5 opened that, it converted the workspace to the new format. Means I can't share the same workspace between the two, but that's not a big deal.

Our BP ordered RDP through Passport Advantage. Turns out they had the best price AND they'll remind us when the license comes up for renewal. I'm pretty sure that ESS will just let the license fall out of support with no notice. You'll need to create a Passport Advantage account - do it within a few days of getting the initial email or the temporary password will expire - and then go to the Rational Key website to download the key. It applied to the trial version with no problem and now I have a fully licensed version.

We're actually on 5.4...I think the trade in for that expired a long time ago...

I don't know if it is still available, but at the time we purchased RD

Trade up does means that you give up a license for ADTS, but depending
on the size of your machine, as part of the upgrade to 6.1 you may have
received more licenses than you actually use. For us, we had about twice
the number of licenses as developers, so we could get the low price for
everyone and still have enough ADTS licenses left so developers can
still use PDM/SEU.

Have a nice day.
