Dean,
You can drag & drop your views on different locations.
Have you have dock your views how you like them for your preferences. Please do a >Window>perspective>Save Perspective As... and confirm you want to "overwrite"
Then it will retain where you have drag & dropped your view. Very flexible. Just always re-save your perspective to keep it how you like it...
NOTE: If you want to move a Toolbar, hover on the edge to get the
4-way direction arrow to drag and drop where you like it. Do not
FORGET to re-save your perspective. <Hint Hint>
That is all part of eclipse, which I use for Java/C/C+ too!
This *might* help:

PS. Rdi 9.5 uses the Older Eclipse Luna, but still has worked the same way for many release of eclipse.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RSE perspective won't reset
I'm using version 9.5 of RDi. I installed another plugin for out change management product and now when I try to open a source code member it opens in a tab in the bottom section where the Tasks, Object Table, Commands Log tabs are located rather than in the top middle like it is supposed to. I tried resetting the perspective and that didn't fix it. Then, I uninstalled the new plug-in and did a -clean start. Still not fixed. I tried a reset on the perspective again and it still opens the source member in a tab across the bottom.
I know I can grab the tab and move it to the top middle, but the next member I open ends up in a tab on the bottom again. Any ideas how to fix this?
