Thanks,

but i have to confess that i expected a subfile displayed for update.

And how old is this macro? Was it necessary to read the QUERYSTRING that
complicated?

That piece of code does the same (one line before and after included for
orientation):

Net.Data macro StartRow.ndm

%if ("" != s)
@dtw_assign(START_ROW_NUM, s)
%else
@dtw_assign(START_ROW_NUM, "1")
%endif
@RUNSQL()

To get rid of the ugly message appearing when you have

http://12.24.177.228/cgi-bin/db2www/ndsubfile.ndm/input?s=100

one could insert

%{************************************************************%}
%MESSAGE {
    0100 : "No rows retrieved for query." : continue
%}

just between the first DEFINE and section B.

That would make section C obsolete.
