Using net.data: %DEFINE REMOTE_USER=%ENVVAR And later on... @DTW_ASSIGN(current_user, REMOTE_USER) Where current_user is the var you want to manipulate. If you're not using net.data, you could use an initial net.data macro to retrieve the user info and any other interesting parms and pass them to your cgi. There's probably an API that can do it more elegantly than that, though. - John -----Original Message----- From: Bruce.Odum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Bruce.Odum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2003 7:42 AM To: Web Enabling the AS400 / iSeries Subject: [WEB400] Retrieving user name Is it possible to retrieve the user name that signed on when using the as400 for security. I would like to retrieve the name after the server validates the user so I can apply additional security at the application level. Once the user passes the initial signon when requested by the server and select a link I would like to look up the user name making the request and see if they are allowed to process that request. _______________________________________________ This is the Web Enabling the AS400 / iSeries (WEB400) mailing list To post a message email: WEB400@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/web400 or email: WEB400-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/web400.
