I would second this.  But I would also suggest studying at
least my first e-RPG book first(www.bvstools.com/erpg/).
 Once you understand the raw apis, how CGI works, why you
need 2 new line characters, HTML, JavaScript, etc.. CGIDEV2
will be evey easier to use.

I always suggest to people to start with the "raw" stuff,
then move to CGIDEV2.  If you understand what you're doing,
your CGIDEV2 applications will be created 100x faster than
if you aren't sure what's going on.

It's sorta like math class.  For weeks you do problems that
seem to take forever... then one day the instructor shows
you the "easy" way to do it (Flashbacks from Calc classes!)
 But, because you know the "hard" way to do it, the "Easy"
way makes more sense and is even easier, and you're much
more productive.  There is a method to the maddness.  :)
