Also, I noticed you have a Flash animation as your banner.  Flash can be
rather large, and may be one of the causes of your poor performance.

I think there are techniques to make the flash load last, after the rest of
the page has displayed, but I couldn't tell you what they are.  Check the
macromedia site for tips
