Okay, I know I'm probably asking for trouble here, but I'm going to take
a stab at getting around the HTTP proxy issue. It seems that using an
HTTP proxy is not all that difficult, even at the sockets level, but in
order to be sure of that, I need to get an HTTP proxy working.

Does anyone know of a free HTTP proxy server for Windows? It doesn't
need a lot of features, just basic proxy stuff. My guess is that it
will only require one extra parameter (the addr/port of the proxy
server) to get this all to work, but I need to know the exact protocol.
The easiest way to figure that out is to get one working and trace it
with ethereal.
