Eric,

I had very few problems getting a PHP application running on V5R2M0 of our iSeries but they were all self inflicted and the biggest challenge was getting MySQL running, rather than PHP. The instructions at the i5php.net site are excellent, as is the support. I have a "demo" site running PHP and MySQL in PASE on my iSeries at www.i5commerce.com. Not snappy, but I am running an entry level Model 800 with just 1Gb of memory. It is also running 3 Tomcat instances and an RPG CGI application.

It really is pretty simple. I'll be doing a PHP install for a customer of mine tomorrow, over the wire, who is also on V5R2M0. I'll let know know how that goes.

Pete

We tried for weeks to get PHP working on V5R2 and were not successful. Hopefully we will have better luck on V5R3. We are considering having a consultant come in to assist.

<<<Reposted from Midrange-L>>>

I am wanting to get PHP set up on my iSeries.

I have the Redpiece "Bringing PHP to Your IBM eServer iSeries..."

I am completely illiterate on UNIX...

I am guessing I do a STRQSH to enter the UNIX shell, and I
Can navigate directories, but I can't execute the make or patch
commands...

Is there another step by step document, more for newbie's ?

Hopefully, the next release will have some support for PHP...
