Are these intranet users? If so, and if they have mapped drives to the ifs, you could use the file:// And have them load the file via the web, and if they save, it would overwrite where it loaded.. If they don't have the drive mapped you could use the 'upload' program provided by cgidev to allow them to save their work on their workstation, and then re-upload the changed word file.
