I don't really have time to go into details, but I'll throw this out for
now, you're looking at .NET and Websphere, forget "classic" .ASP pages.
The non-.NET asp is dead, MS's direction is clearly .NET, so forget
about the classic .ASP. 

Oh, and I can't think of a better forum for this discussion than here.
