From: Trevor Perry

As for your "proof", your own reference proves my point...
- "EGL is our strategic path"
- "EGL is the next business language for the System i"
Even if you accept the "but RPG will continue to exist and we will
continue to invest in it" cover-up,

Referencing an article, then saying some of it is truth and some of it is a
cover-up, is called cherry-picking and is a classic example of a technique
used to spread misinformation.

Please do not continue to pretend you are the voice of IBM when it comes
to EGL and the future of i5/OS. IBM, and specifically Bob Cancilla, needs
to respond.

I'm not the voice of IBM, I'm simply reiterating the public statements by
the IBMers involved. George Farr, Stefano Sergi, Claus Weiss and Bob
Cancilla all proclaim the continued investment in RPG as a strategic
language for the System i, and the advances in RPG over the past decade are
indisputable proof of that investment.

You don't.

They don't regularly post here, so I point to their published words, which
you ignore or distort.

You only bring up hearsay. You never post any details, you have no
corroboration and what you say flies in the face of published information.
That's pretty much the definition of FUD, and I just wanted to counter it.

So, to end my part of this, I simply ask that if anyone still thinks about
listening to Trevor, that you make him supply any sort of details: dates,
times, places, corroborating evidence. You know, facts.

For my part, I will now return to simply ignoring Trevor's posts and not
cluttering up the bandwidth.

Joe
