Yes, it appeared to me that they were stumped, and didn't know how to fix it. And that may be worse than not being willing to. But it was somewhat refreshing to see a discussion like that in the open. A commercial vendor may have the same problem but be more discrete, publicly.

We're getting down to splitting hairs. I'm not a big proponent of open-source, but I have a personal preference for Firefox over IE. And the thing I like the most is that the implementations under Mac, Linux, and Windows are so comparable. It's a good cross-client product. So I'm willing to work around the deficiencies.
