mch3402 error ending apache instance

This is rpg-cgi.
Same pgm executes hundreds of times a day and fails just a few times.
V5R4M5 with http group level 12 
Cannot re-create or force the error.

The apache instance ends. 
Everything in joblog normal till then. 
This error occurred when several users calling same group of programs, before and after error.

Using native file logging wwwaccess and wwwerror. No indication of "why". 
What can I do in logging to get more detail? Job log already at max level.
