STRATEGIC is a word that was used quite frequently by a former business partner of mine, until he decided that *I* wasn't a strategic asset to the company and then tried to persuade the other 4 stockholders to fire me by offering each of them big pay raises to vote me out.
When (purely by accident) I found out what he was doing, I spent an entire night writing an 8-page letter explaining to them why I felt like I had more value to the company than him, and I faxed it to each of them the next morning.
After we fired him, we didn't use that word any more...
