That's a great idea. In this example I am not using CSS, but it is the
way to go and will use your suggestion in the future. Thanks.

Re: [WEB400] Changing background on individual rows in table (HTML)

Hello,

Use CSS and designate each row as being of a particular class.

For example, let's say you have rows that show profits, and you want
rows with positive numbers to be black on white, rows with negative
results to be white on red, and rows that were even to be black on grey.

/$top
Content-type: text/html

<html>
<head>
<style type="text/css">
tr.gain {
color: black;
background-color: white;
}
tr.loss {
color: white;
background-color: red;
}
tr.even {
color: black;
background-color: #C0C0C0;
}
</style>

...etc... more html here...

/$myrow
<tr class="/%class%/">
<td>/%field1%/</tr>
<td>/%field2%/</tr>
<td>/%field3%/</tr>
</tr>

Now in your RPG code, you do something like this:

select;
when profit > 0;
updHtmlVar('class': 'gain');
when profit < 0;
updHtmlVar('class': 'loss');
other;
updHtmlVar('class': 'even');
endsl;

Does that make sense?

I am using CGIDEV2 and creating a table of history records. I would
like
to change the background color on individual rows based upon some
criteria. If I were using RPG I would set an indicator for color but
don't really know how to approach it using html.

Could someone please share an example of this type of coding? Any help
is
appreciated. Thanks.
