I also have used net.data for years, have done a bunch of web sites, some
full-function apps, and a ton of queries. I like it a lot, but forced
myself to use PHP for the last web site that I did. I found PHP much more
tedious, although admittedly, some of that was due to the fact that I was
learning PHP. The reality is that there are more PHP codes than net.data
coders out there, more PHP documentation, and - despite IBM's continuing
support of net.data (which I've found very helpful), more support for PHP.
'Tis a shame, but I'm probably going to have to switch over to PHP

I know/use Net.Data and found it fully capable of doing everything I
needed done WEB wise. I had heard PHP was very much like it. We have
already gone another route - using a 4GL language which generates WEB
code.
I still use net.data for some of the simpler stuff. I was just curious
to know if PHP was at approximately the same complexity and
functionality (level) as net.data.
